You will be glad to hear the exhaust wrap was removed prior to my jaunt to the Alps. Was turning a strange colour and was much lighter than I had anticipated. The stuff I ordered from NN was supposed to be dark grey????????
Anyway its gone and the bike looks great and was faultless on the 2000 mile round trip.
The paint (so far) has held up very well. Price not bad. Certainly cheaper than replacing them.
There are a few marks on the back of the boxes where they mount to the rails, but nothing major.
I got mine painted as at the time it seemed the best option, but wrapping is also a really good way to 'refurb' the boxes and I may look to do that next time round.

I just had my boxes vinyl wrapped by a local company, as the boxes had nasty corrosion marks. Cost "A LOT!!!" Overall happy but if your picky as I am up close not perfect, added black reflective stickers on from Humvee Graphics....they look pretty cool.
They look great! I also went for the reflective decals from Humvee Graphics. The cost of getting all three boxes painted was quite a lot, but as I said previously still significantly cheaper than buying replacements.
Thanks Scottman, paint or vinyl we really shouldn't have to do this, I mean why manufacture and sell these very expensive cases unprotected. Agree though cheaper than replacing them
