Powder Coating in the Edinburgh Area:

Och well, if we're doing an ad for Hendersons.....:augie

The big bits went to Henderson’s Metal Cleaners in Edinburgh where Lyndsay did his usual sterling job on them. He uses a two-pack epoxy primer, oven baked and then a two-pack epoxy top coat, also baked. This gives a finish which looks good and really is as-tough-as-old-boots. It is much easier to keep clean than the original bare aluminium as well. Here are the wheels, shod with new 020s, when they came back. (The wheels were done a few weeks before the rest, which is how they manage to appear in some of the strip-down shots.)

Wasn't supposed to be! But when you get a decent painter, that does a good job for a good price, its worth it. Having had a few things powdercoated in the past (car alloys mostly) when they are chipped and ingress gets underneath it just starts to flake off in chunks, unlike a well prepped and painted piece IMO.
