hi ,just bought an 1150gs, anyone out there tell me wot the 2 wire block conecter is for situated under the right side off the pillion seat?? i thought it was an auxilary lead for a brake light ??? trying to wire up the light on topbox

It's for American models, a carbon canister to reduce emissions.

If the bike's secondhand, I'd guess that it's a connector to power a heated jacket for the pillion.

I'd say in this case a picture is worth a thousand words, especially if it shows the model of bike eg twin plug, ABS, etc etc

thanks guys for your help ,i no i can rule that one out now ,i have a givi 46 topbox with high level brake light im trying to wire in ,thought that plug was off the rear light ,,guess ill have to go into the loom

Just one thing to be aware of if you do. The GS has a system for detecting when the main bulb is blown and plays some funny trick with the brake light to make it glow at 1/2 brightness if that is the case. I don't know what would happen if you use a feed from the brake light to light up the bulb on your top box.
