Power Commander / Techlusion

On several threads concerning power chips, a number of members have mentioned Power Commanders / Techlusion / TFI box ......... what's that all about ?

Do they offer superior performance compared with chipping a GS ?

How much ?
Ease of installation ?
Where can you buy them ?

Any info greatfully received !

My dealer (Lind's of Norwich - 01603 620222) recommend the Techlusion chip as a cure for surging. They'll fit it for £199......

Wot they like up there in Norfolk, They must be my nearest dealer their Car dealer down here in Ipswich is well put it this way I bought my 3 series from Carrs in Bury because they were so unfriendly.

I have been very happy with Lind's. Very few problems and those that have occurred have been resolved equitably. I have an excellent relationship (oe-err missus) with the manager, Barry Lynes. Always get a free loan bike, good discount on bits & their service charges are the best I've come across (I started a thread asking for other people's experience). 6k service about £110, 12k about £220. They are a small part of a vast BMW car dealership & have an excellent (& free!) espresso bar with Sky TV, papers etc, if you want to wait whilst your bike is being serviced. Lind's is also a very short walk from the centre of Norwich, which is an excellent shopping centre. I don't have any connection with Lind's, other than as a customer, but (Bakerman take note ) I'm pleased to be able to recommend good service when I find it....

Prices

£199 fitted at Linds of Norwich is a much better deal than £315 with Mobitec even if Pat Keenan does it for 10% discount that's still £284.

I've checked out the Techlusion website www.techlusion.com and the unit can be bought online for $£189 and the fitting instructions are available on the website.

If I fit one of these either Linds will get my business or I'll get it online. But the Ohlins rear shock has gotta come next!

TFI Box

Bought mine from the importers TTS in Silverstone 01327 858212
£180 inc P&P. Fitted myself and paid locally for Dyno test.

TTS had free fitting offer up to xmas £174 inc, might be worth a call.

I think these units work well and if you change bike can be removed. (Only two tap connectors and ground to battery)

A new unit is due out shortly if you want to retain the Cat.

All it does is add in more fuel on top of motronic. Can be turned on or off for servicing, balancing etc.
