Hi gang,

05 1200GS. All well however if I change down and open the throttle a long way to get swift acceleration, the engine bogs down dramatically for a second or two before opening up as usual. This happens more after time in traffic. i.e. 1/2 hour in slow London traffic in 1st / 2nd with all well then hit an A-road, open up and lose power. Wasn't too bothered until it left me at what felt like a standstill for a couple of seconds pulling off a roundabout with a 4Tonner behind me!

Thanks

Richard

holy crap

Thats well dangerous and i'd be inclined to take it straight away to the dealer before you end up under a truck

you know what, I paid 6,700 for it three months ago and I think I'll chop it in for 6,000 and get a Pan Euro. Fed up with so called "niggles".

Quite possible that the person who owned yours before did something similar. there are a few "lemons" about.

Sounds like it could well be the secondary plug caps or similar.

As he said. Happened to me, same symptoms, secondary plug cap LHS was cracked. Get it checked by your dealer. They cost about £50 each!!

Dealer picked up bike this morning. Will report back.

I've been given permission by my wife to go on a bit of an adventure and as I own my company I can feck orf when I fancy so I think China might be a good idea. For that I need something like a GS and there's nothing else like a GS, if you see what I mean. I'm seriously thinking of chopping it for an 1150GS once it's sorted.

Took my 1200Gs in today to SWB in Hertford as it was missing between 3500 and 4000 rpm, apparently it is the secondary plug coil, this appears to be quite common. Unfortunately they didn't have one in stock so got to go back tomorrow. Also they are about to start issuing recalls for the ring antenna at last!
