Hi all,

I'm kindly being loaned an SP3 for my charity bike ride in October. I have been given a long, fused cable, and wondered is it best to connect via the battery or use the power point on my fairing to the top left of my GSA tank i.e just plug the bugger in when I want to use it?

If the plug will work, what plug do I need please?

ALSO; I hope to buy a Migsel mount. What 'other mounts / connectors' will I need to display the GPS properly?

Finally, will this same mount fit a 2610, which i hope to buy in the future when i give the SP3 back :( ?

Phew :)

Cheers again

Colin

Plug can be obtained at Hein Gericke part no 24000929 for £2.99.
Mounts for SPIII and 2610 different.:(

Colin:

It's probably easiest to connect the lead directly to the battery terminal, since the lead has an inline fuse in it.

I have always found that power leads that are plugged into the power points 'stick out' and get in the way, I am forever jabbing myself on them, or worse, they work loose or get bumped loose when riding.

When you install the cable, have the GPSR in place, and route the cable so that you have no more slack than you need up on the handlebar area. You can coil up the slack and store it under the body panels somewhere. Excess cable up at the GPSR mount is a PITA, the cable always gets in the way of something or other.

Rod, Pan and Andy,

Thank you all for taking the time out to answer. I really appreciate it.

Pan: You're a GPS Guru. Do you ever get time to fly?

Regards and thanks again
