Anyone got one of the Powerbronze flip screens on their 1150 GSA?

Despite putting Tobinators on my machine and fiddling about a fair bit with the settings (which has helped a fair bit), I still get a fair bit of buffeting as the airflow still smacks me straight in the face being a bit of a tall chappy.

I'm wondering if the Tobinators, coupled with a flip screen could be the answer for me?

I know you can get clip on extensions for screens from various places, but they cost almost as much as a whole screen from Powerbronze.

Cheers guys, I know it's a bit girlie, but I don't like the look of the MRA screen - it's too fussy for me with vent holes and bolt on bits. Sorry!

Thats what makes it so good and multi adjustable to suit the riders need :thumb

Where about's in the UK are you? I am London/Kent borders and you could borrow my MRA Vario to see if it suits you. Can't keep it though.

PM me if interested.

Thanks for the kind offer Joe, but I'd hate to borrow it and then damage it in some way!

I'll try and get a look at a Powerbronze one and go from there.

Cheers,

Took the plunge a couple of days ago and ordered the Powerbronze flip screen for my 1150GSA. Being made to order so will be about 3 weeks to delivery. I'll try and remember to let y'all know if it improves windflow.

dont forget

youll need the std gs mounts to fit on a gsa.
looks kinda similar to the std screen aside from the flip at the top.

Thanks for the reminder Nomad, but I've got the old Tobinators on my GSA, so I've got the adaptor kit already to go.

Got a phone call from Powerbronze yesterday telling me it's ready, so I plan to blat down and get it tomorrow.

I'll be riding down with the original screen on and riding back with the Powerbronze one fitted, so it'll be interesting to compare them.

I'll let you guys know what I think!

Well, I had a cracking ride down to Rustington to collect the Powerbronze screen for the GSA, lovely day, little traffic. The road over Bury Hill was closed and apparently will be until Sunday, but TomTom found me some nice lanes to ride along as a diversion!

Sadly, on arrival at Powerbronze, it quickly became apparent that their screen is based on the standard, non-GSA screen and is actually no taller than the original GSA screen, although it is apparently taller than the standard GS item. It's also made to fit the standard GS screen mounts and won't fit to the Tobinator GSA adaptors, which I had thought would do the trick.

Also, the "flip" is nowhere near as pronounced as it appears in the picture on their website.

So, all in all, it was no use to me - bummer!

Give them their due though, they did me a refund without hesitation.

So, it looks like I may well go for one of the Touratech type screen extensions after all.

.........................If there's anyone out there with a regular, non-Adventure, GS that needs a new screen, there's one with a light grey tint ready and waiting at Powerbronze!

Just a quick update.

Bought the Touratech screen extension at the Travel Event. What a difference!

Visor up at 80+MPH.

Mutts nuts as far as I'm concerned. :D:D:D

What height are you mate? I'm 6'4" and just put Tobinators on a 1200gs.....and made little difference. Driving me nuts. I know this is the holy grail but surely????????

Timolgra:- Looks like the MRA works off the same principal as the Givi af330 and the TT extensions? Same question......What height are you?

Anybody there that's 6'4" with a 1200gs that's solved the problem?

Sorry SY, no hijack intended.......same topic.:)

No problem gbpot!

I'm 6'2"

Just back from doing 600 miles 'round Devon, Cornwall, Dorset & Hampshire. Screen extension worked a treat!

Tobinators set to maximum height front and rear, so keeping the original rake of the 1150GSA screen and the screen extension set as it was when it left the factory.

Hope this helps?
