Pratting about in the Picos

So yer travel a thousand miles to thrash a trail an maybe spook anything thats living within 3oom of a trail... Why not take it easy take yer time. Stop and look at the flowers. See if theres any wildlife about to gaze at for a while. Take some photos and have a lasting memory of your trip. I have done both in my time of course. I used to tell folks, think like yer pony trekking on 2 wheels. All, or at least 95% of my accidents/incidents have happend because I have been trying to go too fast for my ability.
I have has meals and even mashed on long high trails. I know which is more fun.

Not gettin on at anyone but eventually most folks come to this conclusion. Just trying to save some folks time in learning.

Was only breaking your balls! 😜
I mostly stay off dirt for your very reasons. Sometimes you just have to call it a day.
PS. My worst injuries off road have been at low speeds. Broke my ankle 10 years ago and the fucker still hurts!!

I snapped mine on a trail, setting my sidestand down, ithe stand self retracted I dint hear or feel it, I thought it was down leaned over and bike laid on me ankle. So zero speed for my worst. That's another lesson for new riders...

I seem to remember that one Mick, do I recall you riding home or did someone have a van @ The Yonderman?

How did you deduce we were thrashing it on the trail ?
We took most of the day to ride the trail each way . It’s 18 kms long and we took loads of photos and videos , stopped for coffees and lunch . Rode most of it in 2nd and 3rd below 30 mph .

Your sounding like Dominic Peltier and his marvellous eye for a bit of film and pictures; :beerjug:

I think watching some of the vids on the tube from trail riding in the peaks and such it's easy to assume things pass at speed,

I think (or, at least I read it this wasy) that he was responding to TIJ650, not commenting on the pace of the videos.

Again, really nice stuff. Really looking forward to going back... at this stage next spring :(

Ffs, lol !!
At least the front brake isn’t moaning in anguish at the lack of forward motion (like previous video)
K, I’ll fuck off!! 🤣🤣

Yet some twat on here complained we had too much forward motion . Grumpy old cúnts on UKGSER 😜

I was about to post the same - defending the pace based on the bravado bollocks from TIJ650

@Bonnie Tyler untwist those knickers, you seem to be having a bad comprehension day

I wasnt commenting on you or your party thrashing about. I tried to say you are better pootling about and taking pictures ( as you did) rather than thrash about and not know where you have been.

I am sorry if you think I was slagging your trip or riding or speed. I did not intend to offend you. My sincere Apologies if I upset you.

Chaps, play nicely please.

Arsey, who I think is fairly new’ish to off-road riding (and certainly to his 450) has been kind enough to post up pictures and videos of his jaunt. Please don’t turn the thread into some “You should have done this and not that” fest, each seeking to score points off one another.

Thank you, Richard

PS I’ll exclude MickDB1’s #23 post, which I believe was well intentioned.

PPS I now see my PS was correct.

Apology accepted . We couldn’t have been slower !!
