last summer (07) my mate Rob and I went for a quick spin to scotland and back, over two days and 580 odd miles.
The idea was to ride to Scotland with no plan of action or direction find somewhere to stay and get pi**ed, then ride back
This is the first time I've treid to post a ride report so bear with me.
First stop was Kelder Dam
It was then a quick blast up to the border crossing and some great views
The view from here was towards Jedbrugh-beautifull place. We were told the plaque also gave instructions for Prima Nockta
but we couldnt find it
From there we hit judburgh then headed towards Ayre using tracks and...well.....tracks really
we finally found ourselves in a great looking town called Moffat. the original settlers must have been welsh judging by the hoooooge shrine to sheep
After heading down the west coast in pouring rain we headed inland and through the Gallway Forest Park. There we found this great Inn. The Ruby Murry was superb
and all washed down with copious amounts of guinness

The next morning we headed to Dumfries, then to Gretna and headed east to Hartside Top
from there we saw the weather closing in from the West
So we beat a hastie retreat over to Barnard Castle and then to home
This was my first over nighter on a bike and what a great time we had. Scotland was/is fantastic
and i will go back hopefully this summer.
The Blackbird is a great bike, but it was this trip that made my mind up that I was going to get a GS. Now got an 1150 03 plate
Thanks for looking and putting up with my ramblings
