Preventing fork pitting?

I've got an 02 GSA
When i bought it, it had already started pitting.
Whats the best way to clean it up then what action to take to slow/stop it?

I've got the scottoiler stuff, will starting to use that now stop it?

Them's the ones, but it's 5yrs since I got them & I've no idea which ones they were. I ony remember that they for a Yamaha model of that period. Try measuring your forks at the point where they'll mount & then call Racespec. That's what I did & they chose them to fit...

HTH,

Hello,
You can do it like I did,my fork was very dammaged by pitting,so I poliched the blue coating away.(a hard job,it takes a full day poliching, but the result is great!!)
Every week going over the leggs with a bit of metal polish and it shines like silver!!!
For the moment the fork is out of the bike because I paint the clamps in mat black just like the engine, looks much better with the poliched leggs.
It is the cheapest way,but with a lot of work, because every kind of paint you put on the leggs will go after a while back to pitting, but not when you poliched them.

This is the result before and after the job.
