Hello to all.
I'm selling my 2014 R1200 GS Adventure.
It's 4 months old with 2500 miles on the clock.
Standard model with ESA and riding mode pro added.
Cost to me £13600.

Would really appreciate any advice as to what this would roughly be worth now.
Normally use MCN to sell bikes but have no idea what a fair price would be to advertise at.

Thanks

4 months old lol crazy  reason I brought air cooled I can get money back even in a few years time, then look to buy a 4-5 yr old WC with all probs/recalls resolved for 5K ;)

I think £12k is toppy tbh.

Given the apparent issues with the WC, is it wise trying to save £1500 or so buying a nearly new one and in doing so, having no contract with a supplying dealer (other than the warranty) or is it better to just buy new and then benefit from additional remedies with the supplying franchise such as vehicle rejection if a serious problem arises?

I would imagine you have the same rights wherever you bought it!

I suspect if you were to buy a defective bike from a private seller and then attempt to reject the bike through a franchise you would be told that there is no contract as between the dealership and yourself and that the extent of BMW's obligation at that point would be to repair the bike under warranty. I have a feeling that the second owner would not enjoy some of the outcomes reported by original owners where BMW has replaced the motorcycle or offered a subsidised replacement. In those circumstances, and mindful of the fact that there are issues with some of these bikes, it occurred to me that the safest option if deciding between new or nearly new is to take the new option and benefit from maximum buyer protection.

Think some of those who write about the troubles with a WC have never actually owned one :blagblah

Really, why?

Because most of the 'problem posts are re-hashes of or references to the few problems that have occurred. I've had a GS WC and now have a GSA WC and have had been very happy with both.
