Anyone got any good prices on METZELER TOURANCE's. I have done a search, but all the info I have found on here is out of date. Found some on e-bay for £139 but will then need to get them fitted. Anyone know of any other good deals. Thanks in advance for any sensible help:beerjug:

About 2 weeks ago Micheldever tyres quoted me around £192 ride in/out for Tourances.
I ended up actually getting Trail Attacks which were about £188

I presume you guys are talking about a pair and not just one!

Hi

Can't offer anything specific for what you are after, but I see you are in Hampshire. I got a good price and good service last week from Tyres R Us in Eastleigh if you are near Southampton.

"Tyres R Us" sounds a bit like a generic Kwik Fit type set up, but it's actually a nice small motorcycle specific place.

Their quote was 15% less than even Micheldever, and then when I went in it was another £5 cheaper still (BT-021 rear for a Fazer 1000 for £95 drive in drive out).

regards
Darren

Just been quoted £224 inc. VAT Ride in ride out  Anyone know where in Essex/Suffolk I can get a better deal :beerjug:

My vote goes allso to www.mynetmoto.com.
  • Perfectly structured web-site.
  • Very long list of available tyres.
  • Best prices.
  • Quick and friendly customer service.
PS. I fit my tyres myself as I find it good idea to practice the procedure 1-2 times a year. I pay to myself for fitting with beer. :)

Why not give them a call, or use Micheldever Tyres? If you can't fit tyres yourself - you'll only complain when there are no tyre fitters left cos you bring them in from Germany.................

Give the local businesses your business :thumb2

Al :D

I generally use micheldever, not sure if it's me but the prices above seem really high as I have just put on a rear (about 4 weeks ago) cost £97 all in fitted to a loose wheel.

Good guys up there but get there early especially on a saturday

Has the price of rubber gone the same way as everything else?

Just looked out my bill from Micheldever. The breakdown is:

Rear TA £74
Front TA £60
Valves £3.02
Fitting £4.60
Balancing £4.60
Casing disposal £2
Remove Front £8.52
Remove Rear £8.52

Minus Fuel discount -£5

Total £188.30

As I said, this is for Trail Attacks and the Tourances were couple of £s more.

Bloody hell! Is that over £17 to take your wheels off!!

That's the way the bill shows it. Whether in reality the price for taking in loose wheels would still break down in the same way I don't know. Bottom line it looks like the price for fitting, valves and balancing was around £54.

When I was phoning around for prices I wasn't asking about how the cost broke down... just the bottom line. As I've got no particular interest in doing it myself and don't have any of the relevant tools I just wanted ridein/out.

Yes, I could have taken the wheels off myself but then I'd have had to take the car and make a 30 mile drive each way... ride in/out meant I could do it as part of a longer ride.

Fair enough but considering theres only 5 bolts to take the back wheel off and it`s up on it`s own centre stand :eek I`d have taken the car and have been there at 9am on the dot to be back on time for a ride out :D

Had a rear Tourance fitted at RideinTyres in Reading 2 weeks ago. Total cost £118. That is to remove wheel, fit tyre and balance and refit said wheel.

Steve

Front might be slightly more tricky to do by the kerb, but for the sake of £8 I'd have parked outside, removed the rear wheel myself and got it as a "loose wheel" price.
