Hi Chaps, not sure if this is the correct place to post this but I guess it may get moved if not.

Time has come to move on my GSA Rallye TE and not sure what sort of value it now has, it was registered in December 2017 on a 67 plate and has covered 16,800 miles, condition is excellent with no damage and only the odd small mark in one or two places, certainly doesn't look like its covered those sort of miles. It has all of the options fitted, main ones being:
Anti Theft alarm
TFT display and connectivity
Emergency call system
Full crash bars
Spot lights
Pannier rails (no panniers)
Datatag

Full BMW service history which will include the 18k miles big service included as I have this on a service plan, Tyres are ok but will need replacing in the next 1-2k miles.

I'll try and put some pics up when I get a chance to load them up on the Loadimage site, but it looks like this one (without the knobblies)

Any help to price this is much appreciated - let the piss-taking begin

Cheers

Stu,

Rules are YOU need to provide a price otherwise your post can be deleted.

Just trying to get some advice on price rather than actually putting it up for sale - I've moved the thread now so hopefully that should avoid tickling anyones sensitivities.

Two places to look. BMW approved used bikes to see at what price similar bikes are pitched - subtract about £1000 for the warranty that you can’t offer; Auto mart or some such publication to see what other people are trying to get for a private sale. I can’t comment on eBay as I know nowt about it, but I believe people sell bikes there too.

Thanks Alan, I did check both auto T and eBay and there seems to be quite a range for similar(ish) machines - hence my post.

Probably not the best time to think of selling in any case.

got a deal ( for a friend) on a 17 plate 17k black GSA TE from Pidcocks BMW 2 weeks ago, They were asking 12.5k, after a call and cash offer they knocked £500 of the price straight away, ended up paying £11.700 to close the deal

Thanks Skid, did that have the TFT display?

was just going to update,
No TFT
Has Keyless
No luggage just rails
Yours will be worth more as its an 18 Bike, they also have (or had) shit loads on the showroom floor and wanted to clear

Understood, I guess the TFT might add a little value but probably offset by the extra value of a dealer warranty.

Thanks again, that gives me a good idea where to pitch mine.

Cheers

I just picked up a 2016 GS TE last weekend from a dealer

28.5K miles

Full dealer history

1 owner

near on all the options on the build sheet

non tft

2yrs warranty

8.5K

I reckon that with a really good advert you might get £11k at the most.
If you are not the original owner, then subtract £500 per each additional owner.

TFT adds a little, but nobody is bothered about sos or alarms. As mentioned, BMW dealers will get at least £1k higher owing to approved used warranty, support, and unlimited coffee and biscuits.

Plus -

Square tyres

Coolant fault

No decent handover to show how the thing works!!

Hardly a recommendation!!

the guy i got the deal for at Pidcocks was just about to part with his cash, £11,300 for a 14 plate GSA TE no options at CMC Claycross, when i said id ring my mate at Pidcocks, A good SH bike will still fetch good money as a new one is 18k plus

The warning light hasnt repeated itself yet so i cant say and the tyre, which i agree is squared off, is within the acceptable limits according to the mothershps report.

where do you get a reccomendation from?

it was just giving an idea of what dealers are putting stuff on the forecorts

I’ve been offered £11k on px from a couple of dealers so probably going that route - thanks for all the input, much appreciated

I have similar to yours, but on an 18 plate (March 2018), with TFT, 2,000 less miles, no SOS or alarm. When considering trade-in values for a new R1250 GSA Rallye TE, I was offered between £11,500 to £13,000.

Of course, you can't take trade-in values as as true price guides because the actual deal will come down to how much you have to pay to trade up. Those that offer lower trade-in prices generally give discount on the price of the new bike, those with the higher trade-in price don't.

Exactly, trade value on a new bike takes into account the dealer bonus for reaching their sales target, especially near the end of Q1 an right before a likely shutdown

I would take 11k from a dealer too....., cant see how you could go for more privately in this virus environment.
