Possibilities:
Check options under printing - File, Print, Options - should only have "Resize Letter/A4", "Background Printing" and "drawing objects" ticked - other things can give odd results in combination.
Make sure you haven't got text set to an odd colour - choose black rather than automatic to check.
Create a copy and take out the pictures and see if it prints - you may have pictures "in front of text" (option to do this is under the format option when you right click on the picture)
Create a new document with some random words in - does it print?
If so, curt and paste the original document into the new one and see how it goes. There's also the option ofg a "save as..." and rename it - this sometimes clears odd settings in documents.
Word can be weird - I do this for a living and I've got one document I can't fix - it decides to number every paragraph when I make an edit, then you undo to get back to normal and after three edits it grows from 3MB to 300MB - I have no idea why. I do a "save as...", it goes back to 3MB but the problem returns with every edit. I have no idea why
