I've developed a really annoying problem since updating my iPad 2 to IOS 5, and I'd be grateful for any advice you may have. Basically what happens is that while posting to the site on the iPad, using the web based page, not the app/phone based system, the screen is prone to exiting the site, reverting to my iPad's home page, and causing me to loose the work already done. There doesn't appear to be any consistent action that causes it to happen, except that it seems to be after touching one of the characters on the keypad. It doesn't seem to be one particular key, its a random thing.
its got so bad that after 5 attempts to write this post on the iPad, I gave up and moved to the macbook. As yet I've not seen a mention of such an issue when googling for an answer, and the iPad was not doing this before the software update.
I'm wondering whether its an issue with my iPad, or IOS 5, and would really appreciate any advice you peeps may have.

Out of memory to run the browser most likely. This new reply.php page has a lot of stuff on it (mostly animated smileys) and it does slow down a lot, and occasionally fault.

I find maps.google.com is too big as well and often faults safari.

Try double-clicking the home button and killing off some of the crap launched since your last boot. The OS needs some memory to track the open apps even if they've been suspended and evicted, if you have a load of stuff in there it eats into the half-gig of ram the pad has.

(This is good practice every week or so anyway).

I had exactly the same problem yesterday. Not something I had before the upgrade to 5.

Thanks for the tip Ian, will see what I can get rid of.

Thanks for the tip. Have often done this on the IPhone, hope it works.
Sorry to hear that someone else has had similar issues, but a little pleased not to be all alone in the wide world of IT.

BUMP.
This is still happening. Not insurmountable as I can use tapatalk, but just wondering whether any other peeps are having the same problem

if it's just this site, i'd use Tapatalk. it's essential for forum navigation on an iPhone and much better than safari on an iPad :thumb2

i've never experienced the issue, as i never use safari for ukgser.
