My Goretex lined Daytona Road Star GTX boots have started to leak water and I want to contact the manufacturers for advice on how to restore the waterproof qualities.

Despite Google searches I cannot find the Daytona website - anybody know what it is or had similar problems with Daytona boots and managed to get them resolved?

Just out of curiosity how old are they?
I've never once cleaned or re proofed mine in about 4 years and they're stll water proof (but looking decidedly battered:P).

After 9 years of perennial use in all weathers mine started to seep, not a major leak but water was clearly getting in. I contacted Tran Am warranty repairs, who kindly arranged a pair of loan boots at a local dealer, where I returned my boots for repair. I think it took about 3 weeks an cost around £90. Strangely the loan boots leaked - a lot. Guess they were a pair of warrant returns.

The boots came back with new liners and new soles and were once again 100% waterproof. cheaper than a new pair and did not need breaking in again :thumb

Lord S' IIRC MikeP is your man, I think he sent a pair back for repair last year or the year before:thumb2

I had a nightmare sending my TravelStar GTX boots back after the left sole disintegrated.

TranAm got me to give the boots to Infinity Motorcycles, as they didn't deal with the public.

Over 4 months and £120 later, I got a brand new pair of boots, as somewhere down the chain mine got lost.

TranAm don't have a great reputation with dealers.....

I foned the dealer (Doble in Coulsdon) I bought mine off and they said to bring them in, I was given a loan pair for the duration.

They were sne t back to Daytona, who tested them and then repaired/replaced the leaking part. been fine ever since, and not charged a cent. Excellent service, although it did take about 3 weeks.

You should be able to take them into any dealer that sells them, they return them to Germany. They charge about £70 plus vat, had mine done by infinity but any dealer should be able to send them back. Came back like new, both soles new goretex membrane etc.
