Problems loading European maps

I seem to remember PanEuropean saying that you should not format the cards - as there were different forms of formatting. If you have an hour spare search on "formatting" and *PanEuropean* - it will be on here somewhere. :thumb

I'm sure that others on here have downlaoded the whole of City Navigator onto a 2Gb card.

Here's pan's comments about formatting: http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22628&highlight=card+format

Summary: find out what file system the OE card shipped with your unit is. Then, format your new card to the same format. I haven't got my newly ordered 2610 yet but my money is on FAT32

Thanks, I have checked the format on the CF card that came with the unit and iit is formatted as 'FAT' but the new card is formatted as 'FAT 32' Here we go again!!! :thumb

Success!!!!!

Well, I updated the MapSource to the latest version, I updated the unit to the latest firmware update and I had a reply from Garmin telling me to do everything that I already had. :spitfire

The problem was that the 2Gb card I bought was formatted to FAT 32 when it should have been formatted to FAT. I did this following all of the advice given on here and at last I have completed a successfull download of all the maps that I want! :thumb

All this leaves is for me to say thanks to everyone who replied and assisted with my little problem, (ooh! Matron!)

Thanks lads!!!! If you have a problem, this site is probably the best place to have it!!! :beerjug: :beerjug: :beerjug: :beerjug: :beerjug:
