Well, shes back on the road and just needs a few miles so that I can torque up the cylinder bolts and reset the tappets. Goes very well with much crisper response and handling and so much smoother. Minor probs are
Poor handling at first, thought of resetting the rear shock but after pumping the tyres up to recommended pressures, handling fine :aidan
Oil leak along left hand side. No sign of where its comming from. New push rods and seals, and cylinder gaskets so where does it come from. No sign of oil on the crank case or gearbox.. eventually found that oil was dripping from the oil pressure switch. Not where it is screwed into the crankcase but down the spade terminal from the inside of the switch. According to M works this is quite common. easily fixed with a new one.
The last prob is a bit more of a worry. The rear brake drum is oval so slow speed used of the rear brake is embarrasing, sort of stop go... Now then does anyone know if the drum can be skimmed? Does anyone have a spare rear wheel? ..... Or is there anything else I can do??:confused:

had the same prob re the backwheel. took waterpaper and sanded down some roughspots. not 100% but MUCH better than before.

You might find a bit of a 'lip' on the edge of the drum that can be ground out.

If that doesn't do it then it's a replacement wheel (or hub if on wires) I'm afraid.

I'm not aware of anyone offering a service to sweat in a new liner unfortunately.

I assume from the above that the drum is secured into the alloy hub in some way. Anyone know how? Its a shame to bin a perfectly good wheel. Might have to speak to a friend who is a very good engineer. Let you know how I get on :thumb2
