Hi all,

I recently changed my Anakee's for a set of Conti Trail Attacks on my 07 GSA.

Ever since I have had a problem with a front wheel "shimmy" at 30-40mph. I removed the front wheel and returned it to the tryre fitter to have the balancing re-checked. The balancing was spot on. I have also varied the tryre pressure to see if I could dial the problem out but still no joy.

Any ideas?

I read an article recently which coincidentally was about afront wheel shimmy on a Pan European fitted with Continental tyres (not trail attacks) and the answere seemed to be that they were not an OEM recommended fit for the bike.

I thought the Trail Attacks are a recommended fit for the GSA.

Anybody experienced anything similar?

Picked up my new 08 GSA which has Trail attacks fitted as standard and done the first 380 miles without problem.

Running 2.5 front and 2.9 rear.

I've got an 07 GSA running trail attacks and I also have a slight shimmy. Tyres were re balanced by dealer which improved things but the shimmy is still there.

I used to run an LT which almost tank slapped if you took your hand off the bars! Apparently happens to a lot with big bikes, some pans do it particulaly when decelerating at about 40mph.

I've got used to it, but I'm not happy with it so back to the dealer, might be out of true spoked wheels?

 Are you using ultraseal, if so do you have the correct amount in the tyre ?

Thanks for the feedback.

I;m not using ultra seal and there was no shimmy at all with the Anakees.

I'm tempted to go back to the Anakees but that is £200 wasted !!

I can't think what else it can be

Cheers

Why don't you speak to your dealer first and ask them to road test your bike for their opinion

I've got Trail Attacks on my 06 GSA and it's rock solid at any speed :thumb
