HI, there are 2 reasons why I am never going to be able to swap to alternative forks to improve the suspension on my 2012 Sertao;
1) I will only ever be doing simple off road trails .... (too old & not skilled enough to do anything more extreme :eek:)
2) I do not want to spend best part of £1k ?

But I would like to improve the suspension ....... even if by 'just a bit' ? So am wondering if ANYONE has actually installed the following progressive springs from Touratech ?

https://shop.touratech.co.uk/hyperp...0gs-sertao-from-2011-replacement-springs.html

cheers ...........

Hey, Thanks for the reply.
The touratech link I attached was for both the front & rear progressive springs. So actually the motorworks & touratechs are virtually the same price. (& they are the same springs ... Hyper pro)

I read somewhere that if you put progressive springs on the front you really need to do the same at the rear also ? I presume you didn't ? I'm now also thinking of just trying the front springs only and just seeing what its like ? :roll eyes:

Did you notice a difference with the progressive springs ?

They are supposed to stop front diving on braking I didn't change the rears there was no need

I did notice a difference I'm presuming that BMW didn't upgrade the suspension between the Dakar and Sertao?

I seem to remember its a very easy job to tackle provided you have the correct tools.

If you do a Youtube search I'm sure you will find a tutorial video on swapping out the springs.

I think Micky has put progressive springs on his G650 X Country?

I used to have Hagon springs in my original forks. A fair bit cheaper than TT or Hyperpro.

You'll notice the difference compared to original, especially if you up the oil weight and play with the height. The rear shock spring is pretty reasonable so I didn't it. I did have it revalved etc. though which did make a big difference.

Hi Dansin, many thanks for the info. I went to the Hagon link and they don't list springs for the G650 Sertao. I'll give them a call. When you say 'play with the height' .... sorry to sound thick ..... but, I'm not sure what you mean ? :rolleyes:
