Proper waterproof, winter gloves?

Waterproof gauntlets - I have used these, bought used from this forum, in very wet weather in autumn and on a frosty New Year ride, admittedly with heated grips as it was nearly 100 miles.

These are largely used as back-up on spring/autumn trips if the weather turns nasty as usually in winter I have the Tucano muffs on one of my bikes.

I also have a set of Gerbing G12 heated gloves available as I like to have options https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/219423

I just have a SAE lead tail sticking out at the front of the seat on each bike. I can plug in my gloves, Keis heated waistcoat and/or Keis heated insoles. If I get off the bike, forgetting I am connected to the bike, the lead just separates as it is a simple push fit, co-ax cable. Electricity has transformed my winter riding.

Must admit, the Richa Arctics I tried were good but for me, oddly sized. Fingers felt far too tight on the pair I tried (size 11). My Held Air'N'Dry were considerably better but also considerably more expensive. There's a little gem within Richa's range, a well known bargain amongst winter riders, in the Richa Carbon winter gloves which come in at under £40. I have a pair (I'm a glove tart...must have 6 pairs now LoL!) and they're fantastic for the money. Not up with the 2-in-1 offering from Held but very close on warmth. Must admit after spending loads on gloves over the years which didn't stay waterproof for long I am settled on Goretex lined gloves for serious work but the Richa Carbons have a place in the topbox as spares in case they're ever needed. They're also easy to get on and off quickly.

Well it takes me 5 mins to fit Tucanos to my 1150 but then I learnt to dress myself at an early age.

You forget that the OP likes to adopt a woe is me stance on many issues or make them inexorably complicated.

Love ‘im really.

Had a set of Turcanos for years, nothing wrong with them but last winter I fitted a set of the Barkbusters muffs. They really are easy to move from bike to bike, fit around BMW hand guards, more open than the Turcanos but almost as effective and look better IMHO. I wear summer gloves all year round and ride in all weathers. Cheap, simple solution to your problem

You must be quite special. I've had the same R319 Tucano muffs since owning a R1150GS. Since also fitted to a Super Ten, Tracer and now my S1000XR. Takes a few minutes each side. Most of the time is sealing the Velcro around the mirror stems and using one zip tie to attach the strap to the bars.

I still use the lacing system - and the spacing between the lacing crossovers have to be symmetrical, or it draws my eye when riding! If you think that is bad, you want to see me on the beach, it takes me hours to put the driftwood into straight lines!
