Protection or not protection !!!

I packed the bike up as a tester yesterday before I leave on wens 8th April,now I try and travel light but found with camping gear and tools a few essential spares space is bloody tight, I was going to wear my protective armour with some layers finished off over the top with a light rain suit , do you guys take your armour with you or just wear normal motorcycle jacket trousers, my thinking is when it's hot could I really stand wearing the protective gear .

I rode to Crete a few years ago on a Gsa and packed it to the gunnels with everything apart from the Kitchen sink. I rode in the UK with my normal Jacket with armour etc then when I got over to France rolled the jacket up in a bag and strapped it to the top box. I then used a Knox off road body armour jacket http://www.motorcyclebackprotector.co.uk/images/products/acerbis-koerta-full-body-armour.jpg similar to this one.
It was the best decision i made. I had this straight on to my skin and put a £3 T Shirt over it. Worked brilliantly. The weather was superb and if id worn my normal jacket it would have been a killer and took the enjoyment out of it. For trousers though I just wore my normal leather pants which i didnt mind doing.

Cheers eggsy I'm going on a x challenge so don't want to carry to much gear so really I don't want to be strapping to much gear to the bike that I'm not using,
I always wear armour over here mainly because I'm off green laning but I always remember a few years ago going to Russia I had suit with the armour in which was great till on the way home & the temperatures rose time I got to romainia I couldn't stand the heat &ended up strapping it all to my rack then I was on a bigger bike so no probs this time I really need to be as light as poss..

I wore my Klim Badlands jacket with a T shirt and heated jacket. When in Merzouga just vented the jacket and trousers and wore a T shirt underneath the jacket. Temps were 28 C so fairly warm. If it starts to get chilly just zip up the vents......perfect!

I'm in Morocco now, I wear my body armour every time, if it's to hot I take jacket off and ride in amour with a Tshirt under or thermal top.

Thanks dude, I'm having a bit off a mare did you notice anywhere I can get some tyres from in Spain I got let down today the twat forgot to order them I turned up to today no tyres then to cap that I lost my phone

Mate No! Got friend in Madrid & one in Malaga if u get stuck. Tyre leader ship anywhere so you could get them sent to a hotel in Spain. Not sure about Morocco.

Thanks I've managed to sort it thank f##k wot a day I've had!!!! I've got to go up to Nerja managed to get a Dunlop 908 so alls well hopefully
