Puncture repair kits for the GSA

Hi Folks,

I have been having a hunt on the forum and a lot of people say the Stop & Go repair kits are good, plus there is talk of rat tails which I tried hunting for on ebay and google. Currently working offshore so aint got decent enough internet to watch videos on the differnt systems.

Im after something simple to keep under the seat for if the day comes that i need it. Was going to get a little air compressor to use with it and have seen kits such as this which have both:

So whats everyone used and would recommend thats not a ball ache to use.

Got rats tails and stop 'n go on the bike plus an airman compressor.

All are dead simple to use: Stop 'n go if a simple puncture, or rats tails if a big hole or irregular shape (eg split).

That stop go kit how much you can buy a pump for about £10 nowt special just a large price ! ,the cheap kit is perfectly ok they are strips of sticky rubber stuff,use file tool to clean hole up if needed then push plug in twist pull out so two tails stick outside cutoff & it's done, the loop left inside stops it coming out Iv used them on bikes & van tyres.

Or you can get other types they all apply the same basic principle

Have fallen foul of a crap puncture repair kit at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon on the isle of Mull. An AA card isn't that much use and neither are rat tails. Bought a stop and go kit after that. Expensive yes, but worth it. Strangely enough the first time I have used in anger was this afternoon mending a mates front tyre. Dead easy to sort.

Used the stop and go kit many times on bike and car. Always worked and left them alone until the end of life of the tyres with no problems.

I use Puncturesafe. Posh slime but IMO a lot better than Slime which rotted my Yamaha rims.
Tyre fitters have no problem with Puncturesafe and my pressure sensors are perfectly happy. Just check regularly for embedded stuff pull it out and ride away.
It won't stop a major failure but it will reduce the rate of air loss so more time to stop.

Thanks for all the thought folks, well opted for one of the ebay cheap kits so hopefully wont have to use it. Its got to be better than nothing, might opt for the punctursafe Bendy sounds good and like these systems was just concerned about the use with the TPS system on the bike, so its good you have no issues. Also managed to find this little gem http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12v-Mini-...pressor-Inflator-Electric-Pump-/321770355911? which i ordered as well, so my new puncture kit for under 20sheets, if it fails then i call the breakdown folk.

I originally thought PunctureSafe was franchise marketing over function but it really does work very well.

I used Slime in my Yamaha tyres but it corroded the alloy rims where paint had been scraped by tyre levers. No such problems with PS.
