Please can anyone shed any light as to why or how a sizeable chunk of paint could have been chipped from the "underside" of the 1200 Swinging Arm immediately adjacent to the Exhaust Clamp. (where the Suspension Damper locates). There is good clearance with the Bike on the Centre Stand.
Thanks.

Probably hit by a stone.

There you go - todays mystery solved. :)

Check the rubber stop on the center stand. If gone, the right hand side foot of the centerstand will hammer up the swing arm when pulling the bike down from it.:spitfire

If it's there, but on a used bike, maybe the previous owner replaced the stop.:thumb2
Seen the same one another bike here. Always control my owm regularly.

Stone, don,t think so. Too tucked away to be stone damage. Centre Stand Rubber Stop, again no, damaged area is well away from stand. Looks like it will remain a mystery. Thanks for suggestions anyway. By the way the paint on the Swinging Arm is really thick as revealed by the "chip".
