I had the bike in for a 6k service last week. And have been pondering a hugger for a while, and they had 'em in stock, so I said "Fit one, please".
I have to say it's quite effective at keeping the shite off me legs, etc. -- BUT!
It rubs on the tyre at both sides, and it fouls the original guard on the shock.
It's only been on a week, and it's aleady quite wornaway by the tyre, and another week will probably see a hole in it where it rubs the shock guard.
Reading posts on here it seems Pyramid produced a new version aimed at addressing tyre clearance problems. ( It's a GS with Tourance - no knoblies).
So, the questions are - Which version have I got? - early or modified? Anybody know the difference(s)?
If the original shite catcher is to be re-fitted as well as the hugger, there is a problem with the spacer for the topmost of the three fixing bolts, which attaches with caliper bolt, as does the hugger, and thus throws out the alignment of the hugger. (Dealer didn't refit shit catcher for this reason).
(Incidentally, running for a week without the shite catcher has shown me that it is really very effective - topbox covered in shite without it).
Anybody been down this road, and so got any Solutions for this problem?
( Description is not very clear unless you are familiar with the problem, and before you ask, photo's won't help).
