Q/R fuel line 'O' rings

Does anyone know of a source of cheaper, petrol resistant 'O' rings for the Adventure type Q/R connectors -everyone seems to ask around £1.40 or more EACH ! Have tried a similar looking one, from my local mechanic, but they are fractionally too thick, so Q/R is pretty much impossible to connect. Also tried Halfords and local Lucas dealer- no joy.
I want to buy a stock of them for emergencies (see my Fuel Pump breakdown in Bulgaria post .
If anyone has a stash of these, I'd be keen to buy a dozen

Also -is it possible to get a fuel pump reconditioned/repaired ?????

Just do a search in yellow pages for O-ring suppliers. Bearing and oil-seal shops usually sell them too as do enginerr's suppliers. They will want to know the i.d and thickness (or i.d. and o.d.) Ones made of 'viton' have the greater chemical resitance.

Not at £1.40 a time i wouldn't have thought.
But it is a good idea to keep a couple of these spare in with the tools.
If you can get a sensible deal on bulk buy,you could sell any surplus off on here.I know i'd take a couple.
MUST be Viton though if petrol is involved.

You would be better to carry a complete connector. (Halfords), not cheap. I cant remember how much I payed for one.
I never thought I'd break one, but I did. Its surprising how easy it is to snap the male part of the connector off.

Dave....I spent all my money on a new fuel pump and carriage to Romania( Got it back now !), and Italian road tolls, and here's a picture for you, to salivate over etc How's Miss Finland ?

wish I'd known of this, I was in Bulgaria when my fuel pump failed - travelling from Veliko south over the mountains !!.....do you know if they are petrol resistant ?

In postsotsialistic countries have many shops used auto parts,for bmv r1100-1150 suitable fuel pumps from old injection Audi 100.
In Bulgaria, second-hand pump costs about 40-50Eur.

My friend driv his k1100 with such pump already about 40000 kilometers.

Thanks Sev, and I think the pump also fits a BMW 318 series car too, so cheaper than a new BMW 'bike pump.

Yes, the pump in my old R1100S was replaced with an AUDI one! Price vs the one from BMW was considerably cheaper!

Hi Bronco, and where did you get them from please ? They are not easy to find, and when you do they are a bit pricey, but I'm inclined to fit them to my Adv., my plastic ones are getting a bit suspect !
8mm on the main fuel lines, and 6mm for the cross pipe - is that correct?

They are not always easy to find on this site, though.

The Part Nos you require are:

FT-LCD220-05-VITON Brass quick coupler, straight, 8mm, Male, Viton ring.

FT-LCD170-05-VITON Brass quick coupler, straight, 8mm, female, Viton ring.

FT-LCD170-04-VITON Brass quick coupler, straight, 6mm, female, Viton ring.

FT-LCD230-04-VITON Brass quick coupler, elbow, 6mm, male, Viton ring.


I put elbow couplers at each end of the Adventure balance pipe. These couplers are quite large and it saves the hassle of trying to thread the balance pipe out from under the alternator (and back again) whilst supporting the tank.

Not cheap, but worth it for peace of mind.

They can take a while to arrive - so get your order in quick !

I broke the plastic balance pipe connector the first time I took the tank off
