Done a set years ago, and having a mind like a sieve cannot remember which way round the connectors go.....

I seem to recall the female is the tank end ( to right on the 1150 as you look at them) If someone can confirm.

I've got a set of metal ones on their way :thumb2

Yes I always fit them with the female on the tank side, the male fitting will release fuel when you press the inner.

I have mine both ways around. I mean one line has the female on the tank side, the other line has the male on the tank side.

Far less chance of ever mixing them up

I see what you mean....that's how Mike O's pic seems to be on the link above

I assumed they were all like that.....my Rocksters on the original plastic connectors and are opposite ways round.

Ah! I didn't click on the link. That'll teach me!

I'll get me coat.

if you don't have red rubber grease you can buy tiny pots of it (castrol) on ebay for £3, perfect size for a bike tool kit.

I've moved away from that red stuff some time ago. It seems to get everywhere!

I've been using dielectric silicone grease, a small tube with a narrow nozzle so it can be strategically placed. Got the last tube from Maplin. But there's other online sources of course.

I'm also in the habit of re-greasing those O-rings each and every time they are disconnected... I forgot to take a little with me on the Italy trip last summer, so I picked up a tube of silicone grease from a dive shop (I didn't need it, just in case...), it's the exact same stuff
