QPAC - Quest Power & Audio cable

Hi All,

.. just catching up on threads. Thanks to Jon & Keef for the updates - even as no news is very good news. So it appears to be doing the job well.

I had posted a new thread in respect of QPAC versions and some 'thoughts' which can be added easily.

QPAC04 is same as QPAC03 but with bendable plug (rotates on same axis thru 90 degrees, so its either straight and inline or at right angles) .

Another is QPAC02-extn which allows a permanent hard wire install and has female socket so when parked you can remove mount, cradle and QPAC02 and stow away.

QPAC is sold in the UK by GPS warehouse and Overseas its thru RAM USA.

Regards,

RAM-man

Just found this thread after ordering the gear from GPSW !!!

The gear is great but can someone tell me what earpiece I can connect to the 2.5mm female audio conn. Will any old Maplins type do? or does it need to be a powered system? :thumb

I've got the QPAC set up and I found that the power is sufficient to hear up to about 40 using an old headphone from a Walkman. Anything over that and it gets lost. I wear earplugs so that's not going to help.

AFAICS any pre-amp would make it too loud at slow speeds. Maybe you can get an easily adjusted volume control but it'll be a bit of a pain remembering to turn it down and up (as if there's not enough to concentrate on anyway)

Cheers

Dick
