Query?

I've just picked up my R1150GS which came with BMW Panniers which I will never use. However the locking system uses my ignition key.

How do I go about selling them like this? Will I have to give the new owner one of my spare keys?

I have got a couple of spares (the flat wallet type keys) that I could hand over.

I was just a little suprised the locks matched the bike ignition.

If this is the case then I wil go ahead and post in the For Sale section.

Sell them unlocked, but without keys.

The barrels can be regigged to fit any key. The new owner will presumably want them matched to his/her ignition key.

I think you have to take the barrels out first...
Then supply the new owner with the cases and the barrels separately.

Go down to Technical Information... then go to the link on rekeying pannier locks.
The first instruction is how to take the locks out.
