Just mounted the Quest cradle on a RAM-B-149Z-G1, which was the mount done for the StreetPilot III, it gives you the four hole base, rather than the diamond (two hole) base.
Works out better value than buying a four hole base separate.
Perfect fit and looks very tidy

(If I may be so bold...)

MP3 Player and phone wired to Autocom, and a packet of fags for emergencys :)

Doesn't look as secure as the RAM bracket, does the Quest clip in anywhere on the bracket?

Hi Guys,

Les & whatton - thanks for the view. Please email same pics (please).

I guess you use the garmin screws in their to attach onto the round base.

I shall add these to the RAM UK range as a

RAM-B-149Z-Q1 which shall give you a RAM-B-231Z, RAM-B-201 standard arm (as Les pics), RAM-B-202.

RAM-B-149ZA-Q1 which shall give you a RAM-B-231Z, RAM-B-201-A short arm (as Whatton pics), RAM-B-202. Just add RAP-319 for shim adaptor.

I've no problem sending you the pics. But if you use them to show your customers options for mounting the Quest be aware that the diamond base I used required drilling to attach to the Garmin bracket as the pre-drilled holes don't match the bracket :)

Whatton, call RAM-man , I shall send you a round base and let you make new pics.

The mount kits using these parts are in the GPSW system, so can be obtained. Use these numbers.

Please ignore this question (oh you have) I've just read the original thread from Nick which describes how it locks in.

Ram Man, I used the RAM screws, which were provided, but just cut the excess off to make it look neater.

Whatton - done, look out for your 'postie' today.

Les - many thanks for the PM which was in my download's this morning.

Is there a secret source of these Garmin cradles or something?

GPSW are denying that they are on sale yet and guesstimating 1-2 week delivery (if that)

Go-on let us know where you got yours from!

I phoned Rainbow last week, it seems these cradles are the GPS equivelant of the Holy Grail, as soon as they receive them they're al sold.

Dont despair though, there's talk of GPSW coming up with a power cable for the RAM cradle. I might hold out for that as I've already got the cradle.

Garmin bike mount (010-10610-00) are ' like hens teeth'.

Supply of the Garmin bike mount (010-10610-00) is now 'infamous' and ' like hens teeth'.

I hear some resellers have had a few of these , but only in small numbers. I also get the end calls from those with 'em that realise they need a RAM mount assembly to get it on the bike. I have created two mounts RAM-B-149Z-Q1 and RAM-B-149ZA-Q1 to make it easy to order and get the correct mount bits.

I understand the GPSW comment as they are waiting for them and their first delivery !.

The GPSW Quest Power & Audio cable is schedule for mid - end of May (not before), maybe for once, I will be biased and having knowledge of both versions and if I was buying then, IMHO, the RAM GA15 cradle with the GPSW 'QPA' power lead has the edge and some advantages which may be worth being patient for a few more weeks.

In the past few hours, the model numbers have been produced and there shall two verisons for BMW guys with a Plug (0.5m version for front dashboard) and (1.7m version where plug is under tank - near riders leg). The third version is bare wire end.

Cheers guys, I think i'll just have to cross my fingers the cradle supplies arrive early. We're off round Europe/US/NZ in a couple of weeks so begger's can't be choosers. If they don't become available before we go I might have to track one down 'on the road'

Oh well...

Sourced my Garmin Quest motorcycle mount from Proadvantage (website) in the USA. They initially had supply problems like all the other suppliers. However, only took 3 days to arrive and cost £39.95 including delivery etc.
