Not sure if it's of any use to any owners.

When switching the unit on hold the power button and the OK button on together.

The display will show a diagnostics screen showing lots of info including battery voltage, ambient temperature, software versions and the internal base map.

Press the power button again to exit. :)

****Note: Do NOT hold Power and Find when starting up, it moves the map pointer to Garmin HQ in the US, changes the time zone and datum settings and erases all of the saved items in routes, locations and waypoints****

Thanks for that, very interesting.

So if the unit can dislay temperature in the diagnostics screen can it display it in GPS mode? I didn't see it when I briefly skimmed through the menu (I know, RTFM).

Cheers

Adam :)

Not that I know of. The device has the ability to do so, maybe Garmin will enable it in a firmware upgrade in the future?

They're screen tests for colour and pixel loss, theres also an audio page that plays all the voice commands.

It's the screens that the Garmin technicians would use to test the unit if you returned it as being faulty :)

Maybe they will if we all email them and suggest it would be a great feature for motorcycle use. My email has already gone.

Will this not be the temperature inside the unit, not the ambient temperature? Wouldnt be much use for everyday riding, just be a check to see that the unit wasnt overheating.

I reckon on the bike at 140KMH the temp inside and out would be about the same
