I did not know the 550 was on its last legs, I thought it came out in 2009, but I don't know....

Voila 3D mode, you cannot change colours or the info boxes bottom right and left, they do change though when you start navigating

If you touch the either the bottom right or left screen it will change to the compass (info) screen If you then touch, say Max Speed there should be a small green tick (at least there is on the 220) then "back" it will show the max speed on the right hand corner and is your target to beat

What map detail do you have your settings on? If you pic is showing your home then you should see side streets etc.

Spanner (Tools) - Settings - Map - Map Detail (mine is on normal)

It is full detail, all the streets are there, I live in the middle of nowhere, or more poetically "on the edge of the world"....

As for touching the fields on the NUVI 550 it does nowt, but thanks for the tip... It is and was a good bit cheaper than the Zumo220 which is why I bought it...

Won't bother doing that with my StreetPilot 2720 as that's showing over Mach 3 as the max speed
