Quest or 2610

Does this make it better than the 2610?
As gfspencer said earlier:

I have both. The Quest will do the job. The 2610 (Navigator II Plus) does it better . . . . with a larger screen and bigger buttons.

I agree if we talk about the BMW Nav II and when it is mounted on the bike. But the BNII has four extra buttons, including the all-important zoom buttons which are missing from the 2610.

Both devices (Q2 and 2610) have their pro's & con's. Both will do the job. You'll probably be happy with either of them. You'll probably be disappointed if you go for the TT Rider.

Go for the bigger unit. I've just picked up one of the cheapo Quests (£149) with the idea of selling on my Streetpilot III. The Quest feels like a tacky little thing after the Streetpilot but it does do it's recalculations a lot faster so I suppose the only thing that lets it down is the screen size. The 2610 has the touchscreen, memory and quick recalcs. If I'd had to pay full whack for the Quest I'd have been very disappointed, if you aren't getting a Quest cheap then pay the extra and get the 2610.

Go to your nearest BMW dealer and buy a BMW Navigator II mounting kit for the R1150GS. :thumb

Or buy a RAM Mount kit.

Or buy one of the high-tech looking mounts from Touratech.

Or..........

I managed to work that bit out!!

Which is the best though? I like the idea of the RAM mount but you go on the website and it's all a bit much, just thought someone might be able to offer part numbers etc.....

Ring Steve (RAM-Man) at RAM on Monday morning and he'll tell you what you need
