Quest power cable....In stock?

Thanks Steve, I had forgotten the bit about removing the Quest so there wouldn't be a drain. Doh!

I've also just had a quick look at the bike and there is a very good reason to go for the hard wired version on my bike. The BMW power socket is just above the left footrest and looks as if the plug supplied with the kit would be at risk from getting "knocked" by my foot. In fact I guess it would be the same for anything plugged in there.

A hard wired system is it then. This is getting expensive....

Now, what about a speaker?????

FWIW, I've been riding for over a year with a PDA powered from that socket, and I haven't managed to knock the plug out of the socket yet. Though I also have H&B bars which protect it a little. It's not something I would worry about too much.

FWIW, I've been riding for over a year with a PDA powered from that socket, and I haven't managed to knock the plug out of the socket yet. Though I also have H&B bars which protect it a little. It's not something I would worry about too much.

It probably depends on the plug but the one supplied with the QPAC looks like it will "stick out" a fair bit.

I've gone for the hard wired version. Ordered yesterday and delivered at 7:30 this morning.

Now I just have to work out how to fit it!

QPAC - more versions

Hi all,

I want to throw this into the forum and get some feed back and thought ..

QPAC is available in three main versions,
QPAC01 - long bare wire end
QPAC02 - short lead and Plug
QPAC03 - long lead and Plug

.. I am now thinking about these versions
QPAC04 (same as QPAC03 but with 'bendy' plug) for RT and 1200GS boys.

QPAC02-extn .. this will have a female socket to make into the plug with bare wire end and splashproof fuseholder. *Thinking* is a hard wire install and for those (living in Brighton - sorry Dick ! .. who want to de-install when parking in the lanes?), can hide everything leaving only a wire poked under the seat and the bolt on the bike.

If you can think of a version we've missed, then let me know as it may be easy to adapt and include in the product line-up.

I would have preferred a bare ended lead to hard wire under the seat (as with the current version) then the power lead routed under the tank to a socket on the bars/fairing/headstock/whatever. The powered mount would then simply plug into the socket and it's 30 seconds work to unplug it and remove the powered mount.

In case anyone thinks that no-one would bother with nicking something they can't use I once had my D lock nicked (left it on the seat whilst I answered the phone indoors) - the key was not in it btw.

I assume that removing the powered mount would also prevent the slight drain on the battery previously mentioned.

>> yes, QPAC02-extn will be a bare wire end cable, approx 1.5 to 1.7m with inline fuse as *some numptey* WILL connect something else onto the socket, the lead will go to front of the bike where QPAC02 has short 0.5m lead with male plug which just connects onto the 1150GS dash socket holder, so a D-install will be very easy.
