Quest Power Source and Mount

Sorry if this has been asked a thousand times before:
Is it possible to power the Garmin Quest off the bikes battery, and is the necessary lead provided?
What's the best mount available for a 1200GS, and where is it available? Thanks

yes it has, but in summary.......new garmin mount and bare wire coming out in Feb(ish), ram mount out now but gps warehouse and or motorcycle adventures wont have a suitable cable till feb/march.... see other threads for pics of a 12gs with mounts

I've now fitted a RAM-HOL-GA15 cradle and mount to my 12GS, and very nice it looks too. The Quest is the best toy (I mean essential piece of equipment) that I've bought in a long time.
I'm obviously, now waiting for the bare wire cradle from Garmin, does anybody know what the current delivery date is? Is it likely that someone like RAM will produce a similar cradle?

Sorry to appear dense, but I can't find any referene to a bare wire cable on the sites you mention.

These cables are still in development and still some time away- as far as I know so do not expect to find on these sites as yet. Expect a new thread in the forum when available.

Again apologies if this has already been covered but what's the best RAM mounting arm for the Quest cradle for an 1150GS?

Are people happy with the function of the RAM mounting arm/cradle for the Quest?

To answer this and not appear biased...

The choice in the market is either a Touratech or a RAM. Within the Forum many members had Quest GA15 cradles before Xmas and have posted comments and reports (inc images) in this forum so you can form an opinion.

The RAM GA15 cradle attaches on to several handle bar mounts as well as the Migsel adapted speedo mount which also accepts RAM parts to complete. The Touratech cradle can be attached onto the RAM mount as well.

Demand for the GA15 cradle is high, so getting one in the next few weeks will be even harder.
