Thinking of doing the Bike Show at the NEC this year. Not sure wether to take the bike or the car.... should be the bike i know.....Thing is I know when you get there you can hire a locker to stow away kit. The problem i have is, if i purchase anything how the feck do i get it home? I have a back box on my 650 twin but cant get much in there. Hoping to get a leather jacket if they are a decent price, also looking at a replacement helmet for the winter. I know I can take a rucksack but i dont like riding with them. Does anyone know if there is any type of luggage that can be either fixed to the top of a backbox or sort of sits on the rear seat and secures to the backbox in any way? Hopefully not costing a fortune!

Why? Put the money you'd spend on the extra luggage towards a bargain. Besides, the weather will be sh*t anyway!

I've only been by bike once which had full hard luggage and managed fine but froze to death on the way home, biking home 180 miles in the dark in pissing rain in November wasn't fun.

Take the car!

Point taken, i've only about 60 Miles but in the wet dark December night.....think it will be the car, thanks chaps :thumb2

I often go to the bike show, mostly by car, and often come away with nothing that I couldn't have put in the GS's panniers or could have been strapped to the bike......

.....until I went ON the bike....

....and then I seemed to see all manner of large items I fancied buying, and spent the day saying to myself "I'll never be able to get it home!" :blast

Take the car :thumb2

Save your money and a day of your life. Don't go. It's only stuff of shite quality that's for sale anyway .
With the money you've saved visit your local M/C outlet and buy some decent quality stuff.

Do what I saw some guys doing a couple of years ago !!

Go in the car - park up & get changed into bike gear / leathers etc so you look the part. I kid you not !!

It seems like it should be a crime to take the car, but after a similar journeys to the one above I now take the car.

I also usually treat myself to a preview day ticket, just lets you beat the crowds, and is a bit more relaxing with more chance to get closer to the bikes and to talk to the vendors.

Pants

Go in your pants, then you can buy all your new gear and ride home, look at it as a challenge......................Take the car buddy.....:Motomartin
