Okay just got back from visiting Glossop in Peak district (lovely snake pass route, the lake/reservoir their was mirror still). 220 odd miles of glorious sun & some stunning tarmac.

Aran where did you get the seat re-covered & foamed please. The material also looked something special, what was that stuff??

It was really enjoyable to meet you & wife Lorriane & kids plus the wild pack of dogs! :augie

As I said, if I can offer help in the future, PM me. The Anakee tyre's we did a deal on, I still feel I owe you. :rob :thumb

Hopefully got some nice footage from your local roads]

ps: Your neighbour knocking me bike over in car, bent my back brake (no real harm I can get it bent back with welder). She had best look out for moving bikers a bit better, hehe.

It was lovely to meet you!
And I enjoyed our conversation.

Bit of a shame my neighbour tried to reverse over your bike :augie
They aren't big on change round here: "There isn't usually a bike there" said her later. That'll be why we need to look!

The seat was one of my biking bargains IMHO.
http://www.tonyarcher.co.uk/ took my original plank, and turned it into a sumptuous saddle 3-4 inches wider than standard. I chalked round where I normally sit, and he made it to suit me. I told him that I don't like squished knackers, so he flattened the seat profile a bit too.

The price for this customised service?
£70

He's an old skool craftsman. There is a workshop and a man. I dropped the seat off, had a chat, popped back 3 days later- sorted!:thumb2

You'd be mad not to!

Many thanks Aran :thumb2

I will keep a log of those details, n1

Sorry to hijack :-)

Hey Aran, how you getting on with your Givi Trekker top box? Is it the 33L or 46L... and what can you fit in it?

Almost at the point of buying a 46L... just need some convincing ;-)

Givi Trekker

I like my Trekkers- both big and small!

I use the 46L as a top box. It is square and pretty tall, so easily holds two size 62 Arai helmets.

I use the large and small in combination as panniers.
I have used the smaller one as a top box, and it will hold a bulging satchel (it's NOT a man bag!).
The little hatch opening in pannier mode is pretty useful. The hatch is big enough to feed a 2L bottle of pepsi through it.
