My 2000my GS has the standard two piece seat and even on its highest position it feels cramped. Is there an alternative, will a 1150adv seat fit. I'd like a one piece seat with abit more height to it if possible.

You'll need to change all the frame and mountings to fit an ADV seat (which is uncomfortable)..............I just so happen to have a mint Kahedo taller single seat spare.

I've had Corbin single seats for 10+years and despite what JB may say, this Kahedo is every bit as comforable.

I'd be interested

If its taller than the standard seat. :thumb2

Interesting.

My oem 1100 seat has become bloody uncomfortable and I've been considering getting an aftermarket replacement (Corbin, Sargent etc).

Didn't consider kahedo...

There's a Touratech seat on fleabay. I was considering it but have bought a used Corbin. Nout to do with me but might go cheap...

Seat

I have a Corbin, for a 1150 GSA being listed when I get back from horse trials...

It would be easier and cheaper (possibly) to lower the pegs a bit. Save sticking your head out in the wind any more too.

How many more inches to you want :D

Tony archer could probably adding some more padding to raise it for you?

My seat is much better since he added a gel pad to it for a whole lot less cash than a new seat.

Whilst i really love my GS i don't think the ergonomics are right at all. You need short legs while riding so your not cramped and then suddenly long legs when you stop! I don't really notice it much any more but in answer to your comments about things being cramped, i reckon lowering the foot pegs is the only way out of that....

Instead of buying a new seat you could always re-model your existing seat. It's pretty straight forward.

My biggest issue is

I have long legs so as well as a set of lower pegs I need a slightly firmer higher seat. Because I have a small bottom my arse bones hit the seat pan which isn't comfy.

My current Adv has the twin seats from Corbin fitted and some MV Verholen lower pegs. I'm 6'6" with a 37" inside leg and i find my setup all day long comfortable.
I remember one of the Scottish contingent having the Touratwat seat on his bike some years back, and it was a lot taller, and there have been a few appear on fleabay from time to time. Try the Kahedo if Tim's offering and save a search for a TT one on fleabay if it doesn't work out. You can then always sell the Kahedo and not lose out financially.:thumb

I had four inches added to my standard seat. This plus SW Motech lower pegs and handlebar risers - suits me. Particularly for touring. When I don't need the pillion area space for the dri-bag ... I use a touratech XXH seat.... Which has been recovered with a more traditional vinyl and gel insert - so a smidge higher again. 'twas an eBay bargain I haven't regretted buying for a moment.

The rebuilt (original) seat cost me £80 five or so years ago. Work done by tony archer in Huddersfield. Using a much improved foam and very nice covering vinyl.

I fitted lower foot pegs from day 1. Massively reduces leg cramps.

For seats I've gone from standard to the sergeant, which though more comfortable, sat me lower than standard. I had my standard seat remodelled, but not much of an improvement. I now use a Wunderlich, which is cheaper than a sergeant. Sits me higher has the concave arse area. Does me for most, if I'm going on really long rides, I will fit the airhawk cruiser medium for addition comfort.

I'm 6' 2" on a standard GS

There's stacks of choice out there.:thumb2
