Questions from a Simpleton

I have a Garmin Streetpilot. Not the all singing dancing one, but the original black and white model. It has the european basemap thingy in it and I have the mapsource UK metroguide disc.
Question is... since Im going to Madrid next week (not on bike) can I copy someone elses European mapsource without buying the disc
Are the discs for the later streetpilots compatible with mine?

You can load any mapping product that does not require an unlock code.

No point in even purchasing any product with an unlock code as the earlier Streetpilots do not have any internal ID and therefore cannot check the unlock code and will not load.
Locked products include City Navigator, City Select, BlueCharts, Metroguide Australia (but not other Metroguides).

If you mean European City Navigator, then the answer is 'no'. You can load it, but it won't work because the unlock code is not matched to the unit ID.
