OK dudes (& dudesses-lets be PC on the PC), got some questions for you.

1: Does the GS Adventure 31L tank fit the "normal" 1150 and if so what is the price/availability etc, does it come with its own fuel guage sender, pump etc?

2: Do the R1100S kevlar rocker covers (as advertised buy Wunderlich) fit the 1150 GS?

3: Has anyone out there in cyberspace fitted underseat exhausts a'la R1100S? or even a one-off system?

4: Does anyone one know of any engine tuners/reliable mods to get more "stomp". Bike is standard @ present.

5: Er think that's it @ the moment but will probably think of more soon, so don't be shy with your answers.

P.S. Only had the bike for a month and a half, but believe it or not I am actually very happy with it!!!!

1. Not available yet, just like most bits for the adventurer (hard luggage, crash bars).
2. I believe they do, but I could be wrong!
3. Yes, but it's a custom job . . . there's a photo on another thread somewhere.
4. Obvious things giving much much improved performance are: ditch the cat converter and replace with Y-piece without cat, add raod/race can instead of SE, add engine management chip, replace filter with K&N - huge difference. Well worth the dosh.
5. Uhhmm, no answer
Simon E.
PS Keep enjoying it . . . it gets better.

1. Adventurer Tank does and it's about £500+. Rack and seat does as well - Adventurer seat is about £125-150 , but why ?? Just buy an Adventurer.
2. Rocker covers will fit.
3-6. As Simon says - ditch Cat fit a Y piece and Race exhaust and a BBchip and make sure you've got a lower ratio 6 speed Sports Gearbox (ie no o/drive gear) to get the best drive. The GS's with the o/drive boxes are slower than than the sports box options, as the engine won't fully rev out to the redline in top gear, it's too tall.

Cheers maties, I can't afford the adventurer (esp. as I've only just got the GS). also didn't want the lowered gearing & increased suspension travel. The Gs has already done all the offroading it will-had to ride it into a field to camp! I'm thinking more along the lines of Super-moto look, including 17" alloys-insurance permitting. Don't know if you saw the one PIA in Dgermany made. See attached.

update

I have spoken to SPC in Alton and they think the 31L tank should fit, however it is the best part of £500 + VAT for a primered one and apparently the electrical gubbins is also required at a cost of a further £100 or so + VAT. Bugger. However they did say come the quieter time of year they will be looking at a saet conversion to fit the Adventurer seat to a normal GS-anyone tried this????

Don't know, however SPC did say that they have had a lot of enquiries on that score. Apparently it's more comfy for the pillion that way.

Here's an Adventure with the twin GS seats
just basic spanner work

Gauloises,

that looks very interesting. Do you know who did it & what bits you need? It's clearly got GS seat & rack - what else? Any info gratefully received....

Cheers

MikeO:)

Hi Mike
Sorry the chap had it done by a dealer :(

Gauloises

PS. How long is your sidestand is the adventure one longer ?

Gauloises,

Bit difficult to get to in the garage, but I think it's 33.5cm (13.3 in) from the centre of the pivot to the foot. Is size important to you?

I was in Pidcocks (Long Eaton) the other day. They are advertising the adventure tank to fit 1100/1150gs's for just over £700 fitted.
