Questions will surely be asked of MRA

Ok. Just sitting here and opened an old simple test route. Started to navigate it without saving etc. I did not export it. . It shows my waypoints. I then go to settings; add stop, choose fuel. It shows it’s adding it as a way point. Waypoint is then inserted in correct position. So that seems to solve the how do I add a fuel/ shopping stop. Fuck. Just lost the whole explainer in this post that disappeared. Not going to touch type it again. I think I have it figured

Basically once route is created, go to route etc and choose to navigate. It then treats it as a route and you get the option to add a stop. As it should. It searches and after selection adds the stop in the correct order. However, if you download the route and run it from downloads (no matter what options for data usage are set) it forces it to be run offline (even if your phone is not in flight mode). When this happens there is no option to add a stop or you get the message that a waypoint cannot be added to a track. Not sure yet why some exactly when on these 2 options. Gets confusing across devices So I will run it live today on phone and after setting it to nav, I’ll turn my flight mode on and see how much data it consumes or if it makes any difference. It’s to do with the downloads though

Ok so first route used zero data. Return leg switched mobile data back on. App still showed it was operating in offline mode but did use a measly 30mb of data over 4. Hours. Result. And added points into route correctly. Liking it. Just now need to work out best way to plot a route from a to b, then insert waypoints without having to re arrange them up and down each time.

If you are using the phone app rather than the website to create routes put your start and finish in. If you want to shape the route zoom in to the route and give the route line a long prod. A teardrop waypoint will appear. Drag this to whatever road you want the route to follow. You can make it a Via point rather than a shaping point by tapping it and changing Type in the dialog box. If its a route you have already created and want to edit open it and hit the pencil icon above the navigate button and follow the procedure above.

ave an iPad. And a phone. I assume you mean use new route in the web app and not route planner

Figured it out and it works well. Created 2 fluent routes and added in stops after leaving the camp site. No issues, minimal data used and interface is a joy to read.

I've just downloaded this app. Is there a way to save entire maps offline ? I can't seem to find that feature.

I installed DMD2 on my phone. You can download everything for a very small fee. £10 for six months or something. All fully routable OSM maps with suggested routes

its under settings, offline maps, select regions or whole region. O Maps is under your profile / account pic

Thanks. I hadn't registered so it was greyed out. I didn't realise it was a subscription service.

£99 for life seems good value if it's as good as Google. But it just seems to be offline OS maps ?
