Since I don't have the riders manual, is it normal for the ABS to self test after riding?
I mean, I start the bike, ABS flash ok, start riding I hear the self test everything is ok, ride for a few miles or minutes come to a stop light, put in neutral wait and when starting rolling again I hear the self test again.
1150 GS 2002 (Non Servo) model

i believe that abs self test on our bikes is preformed during ignition

later on, is a sign of almost flat battery, imho

have ever had your battery measured with a multimeter for soc?
do you plug it on a battery tender occasionally?

greedings!!

Battery has changed a few months ago with Odyssey and the bike commutes every day for more than 20 + 20 Km's (work and back home) so I see no reason for battery problems.
I found out after a quick search that the 1100 does actually perform the self test again after community for a few Km's without stopping (There are more funny noises when you start off. There's a sighing as you let the clutch out and start to move. The grating clunk is the ABS self-testing before turning off its red flashing lights. Note the self-test kicks in periodically when riding. You notice it most after 10 or more minutes riding without stopping. Next time you stop the bike say at a junction then ride off, ABS self-tests. There are further funny noises when coasting. From: http://micapeak.com/bmw/gs/gs_tel2.html) I am not sure if this should be the case with the 1150, but I believe it is, since the self test occurs under similar circumstances.

No it's not. It's totally normal.

When the abs 2 system first came out on the K1100 models, i was convinced my center stand was loose and flapping around everytime i heard the abs clunking as i pulled away from traffic lights.
