All the quick shift talk on the WC forum has got me thinking. A PCIII and PC5 are both compatible with the additional PC quick shift module. Seeing as I've got an old PCIII sitting around somewhere I'm considering investing.

Does anyone have any experience of the PC quick shift module? Recommendations of suppliers appreciated.

Also applies to Hexhead owners.

And yes I know it's an old tractor and not a MotoGP bike but it'll be fun:)

Have a chat with Ding Dong, as he's fitted them to a few of his bikes over the years.:thumb

Nutty, can you take this Alf guy with ya, he obviously doesn't belong here :D

Oi!! You leave Alf alone... He's special ;)

Love the idea but hate the thought of what it'll do to the splines, etc, Alf. With the gearbox running at engine speed, it could be messy in the longer term. YMMV, of course :D

Interesting. I believe that a quick shift was either an option or standard on the HP2 Sport so from that I'd assume that it's safe to run one on an oilhead.

Hp2 gearbox is not the same as 1150 also its wrong so no dont do it
Just ride it man , we have the best why make it like a girls lc bike :comfort

If you bike needs water u r gay :augie

Okay dokes. Maybe I'll give it a miss then. Thanks for the heads up:thumb

what is point?

Faster acceleration but more importantly it looks fun and makes a great noise. Doesn't look like it'll work well with an 1150 though so I'll have to investigate super chargers and turbo options instead.......

...needs a 'Like' button... ;)

More a contradiction than anything else. These old tractors just don't do quick shifts without wrong sounds.

Yes I am now opening myself up to all those who can quick shift a 1150.

Dr Alf, if you got a pc111 than all you need is the dynojet shifter, (no need for a module) either push or pull depending if your linkage pushes or pulls, you take the 2 wires to the pc111, there shpuld be 2 inputs for these wires and than plug the pc111 into your pc via the USB and activate shifter mode, easy peasy.

Eleven fiddy maybe a coffin dodgers bike :) but ya still can some fun with a shifter fitted..

Nobody can quickshifter an 1150 Adrian, you're safe.

Whilst the 1150 doesn't necessarily have the big old clunky gearbox some people think, it certainly isn't something that should be rushed. Like a good wine/beer/woman, the 1150 is to be savoured by the connoisseur motorcyclist, not hurried like a £20 quickly from heroin addicted street whore.

A quickshifter on an 1150GS is like your wife having a tattoo saying 'I suck cock' on her forehead. It'd be amusing for about 5 minutes until you realised that:

A. You can no longer go out in public with her, because people will laugh at you both.

B. You can no longer ride her, because of the shame.

C. She will fall apart from the embarrassment and this will lead to her untimely demise.

D. You will forever live with the knowledge that you ruined something so perfect. You will lose sleep, this will lead to depression, drug abuse and ultimately you'll end up giving handjobs in McDonalds toilets for a couple of quid and a burger, just to stay alive.

Just discussing the subject makes me feel dirty.

Thanks Flipfly
I can now remove 'cant shift an 1150GS quickly' from my list of personal failures.
The list is getting shorter by the decade.

:D:D

Always easier to point the finger elsewhere, that's why us 1150 riders are so happy :D

That's interesting. Thanks for the heads up. Do you have any experience of fitting one to an 1150 or can you recommend a supplier? I have no idea if the linkage pushes or pull - anyone?

Having experienced a quick shifter on a WC over the weekend I'm tempted.
