quick shifter

To be honest I can't see much point to a quickshifet on a road bike, changing gear isn't hard and doing it well is just part of riding a motorcycle - I'd rather not have the extra complication and weight - not much of a saving I know but it seems as though the weight of the GS is creeping up again.
I tend to agree.
The extras from '14 to '17
Hill start
GSAP
keyless
Auto ESA
This adds another 6kg to 244kg
In 2019 when they add auto pilot and stabilisers we will reach the magic 1/4 ton, perfect for a bit of greenlaning.

Me, quckshifter is nice to use on downshifting when undertaking controlled braking when approaching A-road islands - you can quickly go through the box to 3rd and then use the clutch for 2nd or 1st, depending on the case. I love keyless, both ease of use and the greater security. Similarly, hill start is a really useful feature, and which I use frequently. Would spec all 3 every time. Not wholly convinced by the auto ESA just yet - road mode seems a bit cruiser like at times. You can live without all these, but you do learn to appreciate them.
