Have recently installed a new T3, but have plugged the sensor hole in the Y section and disconnected the sensor under the fuel tank. Will the ECU work this out, as I now get a lovely noise, lively performance and the occasional crackle on overrun? Too early to tell on mpg, but seems OK.
Or, do I need to dismantle, reinstall Lamda sensor?
On another subject, but related to build quality, I have owned GS's since 1995. First one was chopped in for an 1150GS in 1999, with little or no corrosion. 1150GS went back under warranty twice for unnecessary corrosion inside 18 months, and was fairly ragged when I chopped it in for an 1150GS Adventure, my current bike in 2002. This latest model went back twice inside 12 months, has also had a new clutch thrust bolt inside 18 months, and the yoke and front fork ends are corroding again after warranty work already done.Bike is two years old in November (7000 miles).
Have I been unlucky twice, or are there others out there experiencing the lower metal build quality? My 2.5 year old Kawasaki ZX12R is pristine!
