ive been having problem changing gear then read in the forum its the bush in the gear leaver needs cleaned so did that then after a couple of weeks back to the same so going to get a bush made with grease nipple do anyone think this would work

look at the short linkage gear lever to gearbox there is a cup and ball connector at each end remove by taking out the small retaining pin each end BE CAREFULL YOU DONT LOSE THEM clean the ball and cup apply a small spot of grease on each ball and reassemble this is usually the problem.

Did you remove the gearchange lever from the bike? It is attached by an allan bolt behind the footrest, there is a bush in there that can sieze causing the problem.
I had the same problem on my 1150r a couple of weeks ago and a good clean, rub with emery cloth and a dollop of grease cured it.
The allan bolt can be a swine to loosen due to BMW's use of locktite, I managed to twist an allan key before I realised why it was so hard to shift. I had to use a blowtorch on the head of the bolt to soften the locktite before the bolt would turn.

gearshift leaver

yes stripped bush rubbed down greases put back together worked great for a couple of weeks then the same again so was thinking if i got a foz bush made of copper with a grease nipple it should work what u think

Gear lever

I did this all ok, but the bush is a very snug fit so ideally it might be a good idea to ream it out slightly to allow the gease to get all round, but thats just being perdantic. Anyway, no probs since but will have to see after a long drag
(and slide!) back from the Dragon in pouring rain, may be time for a grease up.
