I know it fits the K1200R which looks about the same, only its the other way around.

And Yes....you will probably damage the shaft when trying to get the plastic cover off. Suggest you disturb the cover from the bottom. At least if you do chip the paintwork it will be out of view....hammerite smooth does the trick. Used an old plastic ruler and screwdriver combo. It is held in place by the centre being a tight fit in the hole. I found that meths and some gentle rubbing removes the R&G contact details from the bung nicely.
