Bit of advice from the more experienced please...
GSA went in for its forst MOT yesterday at North Oxford. Passed (despite Toad's silly pipe, sans baffle -
).
However, they noted on the VOSA sheet movement in the rear wheel bearing. Said it was small and not a problem but needed watching.
Now the bike's under used-approved warranty until March 2012, so I asked them to get Matt, the service manager to give me a call.
Should say from the off, I really like NOG and they've been great to me. This isn't about them.
Matt called today and said almost all GS 12s have some movement down there and most RTs. Said it wasn't an issue until it got to 3/4 of an inch of movement or so and I should just keep an eye on it.
Politely made clear they wouldn't change it under warranty as it stood, were I to ask.
Clearly my concern was that if it's going to get worse I want to get it sorted whilst the bike's in warranty, and that that note on the VOSA sheet will also put buyers off if and when the time comes.
So, we came to an agreement. They'll have another look at it two months before the warranty goes, and I asked them to drop me a letter confirming that, which Matt was happy to do.
Sound about right to you lot?
