Got hold of a nice 1995 R100P/D last year and spent the last few months tidying it up ready for this summer. Since I have had it, it always started on one cylinder only but after only a few seconds the other one would kick in and it would run on both thereafter. Took it out last week and got it MOT'd doing a round trip of about 30 miles during which time it ran beautifully. Even spent some time balancing the carbs on my return and it was idling perfectly throughout.

Decided today to investigate the cold starting issue only to find that it would not start at all. No sign of a spark at all at either plug so panic has set in!!

My other airhead is an much older points model so I am not familiar with the electronic ignition models. Any thoughts/advice/help etc would be much appreciated.

rest a plug on the cylinder head with the HT lead attached and then flick the kill switch on and off several times. If it sparks then it could be your bean can hall sensor.

You could always pick up a cheap spare ignition module. Second hand one of these would do http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-9...623?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e9bf13aef

Or look for Lucas DAB400 or intermotor 15000 or any of the units on this list if you fancy grubbing about in a scrap yard or searching ebay

He's like the rainman of bikes. Incredible.Brilliant

I have a friend whose an avid gambler on the horses. came over to visit me for holidays once and his suitcase was full of form books. I can imagine Bob having such a suitcase:D

I'm just recycling stuff Thats Been posted over the past 12 years or so. Nothing special about it.

richC posted the original list when he worked for intermotor

Yeah, but you memorised it and posted it here after all this time.

You're too modest.

Many thanks for your help so far. I will check the spark plugs/kill switch as decribed and get back to you.

Have tried flicking the kill switch as suggested but not a sign of a spark. When I find time I will check the coil which I undestand is prone to failure.
