R100GS Colour change

Ive found a possible project bike .

Its a R100GS parralever which was originally registered as black/yellow (bumble bee) , and has done 50K miles .

But its colour has been changed to white mudguards and tank with a blue frame .

The frame is a bit tatty , but i can sort that.



Its not a particularly cheep bike but its got lots of Moorspeed goodies fitted and not many miles ago.

The question is , does a bike that has had it colour changed effect the value ? Its £7K

Just wondered what people reckoned ?

£7k sounds a bit steep? But I wouldn’t worry about a colour change in a bike like that.

I'm with Nin. Depends on what you call tatty. I wouldn't pay £7k for a 'project' bike. I'd want a well kept but not pristine one for that.

Its had a Moorspeed power piston kit with the bigger valves and high lift cam and his airbox , rebuilt gearbox and bevel , new timing chain and starter.
Tech noflex rear shock and front springs , 320mm disk with 4 pot brembos

my view is with quality work done to it the colour change becomes less relevant as the bike becomes a "special ". people will be more interested on condition when its a special.

I think the added value of the Moore stuff makes valuing it difficult - without that I would definitely want well kept AND pristine for £7k.
